From Google News Search: "9th century" What was the life expectancy in the 9th century? Q. What was the life expectancy in the 9th century? Asked by Omar Khan - Wed Nov 11 19:04:44 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments Was the Carolingian Empire Feudal? (9th century Frankish Empire under Charlemagne)? Q. I'm confused. I know it was an Empire but was it feudal in structure? E.g did monasteries collect and store tax for the lords? Did peasants work the land directly for the lord and indirectly for the Emperor? Was the King>lord>noble/clergy>pe asant structure in place? Basically was it an early feudal society even though it was called an Empire. Can an Empire be feudal or are they two completely different things? Thank you to all who reply! Asked by Zeddy - Fri Apr 17 21:39:00 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The center of the feudal system in medieval Europe was the king, and a medieval king was, above everything else, a warrior. From the 9th to the 14th centuries the heyday of feudalism the most important element in making war was the armored and mounted knight. To maintain a retinue of knights was, however, very expensive. Q. Before I was training for the century, I sustained a stress fracture via marathon training and had been cycling as method of cross training. I currently, cycle 5-6 days per week, with my long rides up to 50 miles, i typically add 5 miles each week to this ride. I usually spend 2-3 days on stationary bike doing intervals and/or taking spin classes. Asked by aerin1119 - Sat May 5 10:58:45 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. You are in good shape for it now. The intervals and spin classes are o.k, especially if you enjoy them. I would suggest concentrating on longer sessions though. This will improve your aerobic base, which in turn will give you a better base speed. What you will find once you start going more than about 60 miles is that you will "bonk out". This means that you have used up you bodies supply of glycogen. Long distance riding becomes more about nutrition and diet. Most people suffer on long rides only because they haven't eaten properly. Best tips I can give you Increase your intake of potassium and magnesium. This will reduce cramping and aid metabolism. Vitamin pills are o.k. but I prefer to get them from food.
