A siege engine is a device that is designed to break or circumvent city walls and other fortifications in siege warfare. Some have been operated close to the fortifications, while others have been used to attack from a distance. From antiquity, siege engines were constructed largely of wood and tended to use mechanical advantage to fling stones and similar missiles. With the development of gunpowder and improved metallurgical techniques, siege engines became firearms. Collectively, siege engines or artillery together with the necessary troops and transport vehicles to conduct a siege are referred to as a siege-train.

A. Ballista? Scorpio? Onager? Seige Tower? What period are you looking at? If this was the 19th century your answer is going to be much different than Ancient history.

A. ?How do you make grasslands do collateral damage? In all seriousness now... In order to do collateral damage, you have to ATTACK with the catapult, not simply bombard with it. Bombarding takes the defensive bonus away, but otherwise does no damage. Attacking is what does the damage to the units in the town. Good Luck!

Why doesn't school teach us about Muslim inventors?
Q. I was doing some research and everything from the reciprocating piston engine (Al-Jazari), camera (Al-Haytham), battery (Iraq), jet propulsion (Muslim Spain), flow regulators (Al-Jazari), automatons (Al-Jazari), parabolic mirrors/camera lens (Al-Haytham), Algebra/Trigonometry (Muhammad bin M s al-Khw rizm ), and even the Soviets used an Arab from some country called Uzikstan to oversee and develop the first rocket to reach space. Man, even the airplane has a Muslim foundation since it was a Muslim who first applied the concept of aerodynamics and both the propeller (China) and engine (Iraq) used wasn't developed by the Europeans. Even jet propulsion has an Arab foundation with Al-Rammah's purification of pottassium nitrate and the use… [cont.]

A. Most of what the muslims claim as their own was copied from others like the Hindus and Buddhists and Chinese who are all much smarter than muslims. The first approaches to algebra theory were in Greece in the third century, long before that Mohamed fellow had his silly dreams. Arabic contributions to the science did indeed come later. Don't confuse Arab with Musilm anymore than you would confuse Catholicism with Christianity.
