Have the employees submit an expense report and use this to enter why the expense occurred and to check for actual valid expenses. This essential for tax reasons. Answered by Margaret R - Tue Jul 24 07:48:51 2007 How do you account for a free gift card? Is a liability created? What journal entries would you make? Q. What journal entries would you make to document a free $10 gift card that was given as the result of a $50 cash purchase. I'm assuming a $10 liability is being created after the initial $50 transaction. Also, what FASB pronouncements are in existance that would back up your answer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Asked by asdf a - Tue Nov 18 13:28:21 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The $10 is a contingent liability. Your journal entry would to credit the contingent liability account and debit the contingent loss (or expense) account. You can only do this if it is probable that the gift cards will be used and if you can reasonably estimate how many will be redeemed. See FAS 5. Hope that helps. :0) Answered by sumbumblebee - Tue Nov 18 13:51:11 2008 How can I post blog entries today for past dates?
Q. Are there any blogging programs out there that allow entries to be transferred from a paper journal to an online one, with the chronological dates not affected by the day the entries were input? I have several paper journals that I want to transfer online, but don't want all the entries to be the same date. So far, every online journal/blog program I've seen doesn't give you an option to plug your journal entries into a calendar that has the past dates open for new info. Thanks! Asked by Mim W - Wed Apr 9 09:56:03 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Google has a nice blog hosting site called Blogger that allows you to set the date when posting. Just click Post Options when creating a post to set the date and time. Answered by Z G - Wed Apr 9 10:02:20 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "entries" |
