What is the correct translation for marriage in the hokkien dialect?
Q. Because in Singapore we tend to fuse our languages together so, I find out that the word "Marriage" in hokkien sounds similar to the one in Bahasa Malayu.

"man among men"? not that i know of. but there's a chinese idiom known as "man above men", meaning a better class of people, usually use to praise successful people (not just man). man, human, can be pronounced in two ways: LUNG (informal) or LIN (formal) LUNG is pronounce as the human organs, LUNGS without "s". since "man above men" is an idiom, we should use the formal pronounciation. therefore the pronunciation is lin siong lin "yi shi cha-bo-lang diong e cha-bo-lang" she is a woman among women. a bit weird. though i understand what you trying to say, and most taiwanese will understand your message, but we don't say it this way. cha bo lung lai, yi shi chin ho ey among the women, she's a very good one.
