If Scotland voted for indepdendence, what would happen to immigrants?
Q. If Scotland voted for independence in a referendum, what would be the effect on immigrants living in Scotland? Would the 10% English living in Scotland suddently become illegal immigrants over night? What would be the effect on future British people wanting to move to Scotland, would they have to apply for an immigrant visa, a work permit?

A. Angel - If the people in Scotland vote for independence that's their choice. It's called democracy. Just as the people in England could separate from the UK if they wanted to. The London Government was all in favour of independence for countries like Latvia, Croatia, Ukraine etc. so what's the problem if Scotland (or any other part of the UK) wants independence ? How is independence ok for Latvia but not ok for Scotland? You may not realise it but there are also thousands of English people living in Scotland. They moved here to get AWAY from England. Would you like to see them sent back to England too? What would happen is : If and when Scotland does become independent, anyone resident in Scotland at that time would become (if they… [cont.]

A. The locomotive "The Flying Scotsman is undergoing a complete overhaul before re-certification to allow it to run on the main line, the overhaul is expected to complete in late 2008 and should be back on the mainline in 2009. The train "The Flying Scotsman" runs every day from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley in 4 hours 20 minutes on the National Express East Coast Line. Depending on time of day and how far ahead you book your ticket you can travel one way from 14.00 to 126.00 Use the link to find trains and ticket prices for your travel date.

A. My cousins & I took a Haggis Adventures tour in Scotland last summer & had the most amazing time. We did the 7 day Island Explorer tour, and had sooo much fun. The tour guide was a really cool girl who was knowledgeable about all the places we went, the other people on the tour (ranging in age from me - (15 at the time) to late 30s, with mostly 20 & early 30s) were really nice and fun to travel with and the scenery was beautiful. We just toured through Scotland, though. We took a train from London to Edinburgh. I've never taken a Contiki tour, but I've heard mixed reviews. Some people love it, others...don't. I think it really has to do with the guide & the people you're touring with, and you can never know who they'll be. Most of the… [cont.]

A. I don't know if you know this, but the SFA and the FAW are planning a joint bid for a Celtic Euro 2016, in Wales and Scotland. But the plan is flawed for many reasons. 1: Each country needs 4 stadiums over 35,000 seats in capacity. Scotland, with development for Pitodree would have this easily. But Wales has the Millenium as the only stadium that at present would qualify for the competition. Swansea's Liberty Stadium can be extended to as much as 38,000 seats, and Cardiff's new stadium I'm sure could also be extended. But where's the 4th stadium coming from? Wrexham's racecourse would be a white elephant if converted to a 35,000 seater stadium. Their attendances never rise above 9,000. 2: UEFA forbids two stadiums being used in the same… [cont.]

But I searched on Internet that there are no Bujinkan Dojos or any International Bujinkan Dojo Associations links there. How can I learn Ninjutsu there? Please help me. Suggest something to me. Thanks I cannot order the DVDs that Bujinkan offers because they are too expensive for me.

A. You need to search a little more carefully. Googling "Bujinkan scotland" produces a number of results. A relatively short train ride can also carry you into the north of England, or down to London to train on the weekends. Since you'll be in the UK, you might try hitting up Peter King's seminars when you can. By the way, Scotland is listed under "England/UK"... Just check through the websites listed there.

A. I would suggest this: write a letter with all the information you know about her and send it to Social Security in Baltimore, MD with a request to forward the letter to her. Normally it takes having the Social Security Number of a person in order to track them, but there is also a problem of the privacy act---and that's why I do not think that even a private investigator who charges lots of money would be more successful than this approach. Social Security is slow, but there is a chance of actually finding her, via forwarding a letter to the person. If you want to try it, I have provided the link for you below. The adress should be somewhere on that link...good luck

A. They are called estate agents in Scotland. Most agents advertise property online and some solicitors also act as estate agents. Google property sales in the town you are interested in. The best agent will be the one who has the property you want! After that, your solicitor deals with the seller's solicitor.

An Edinburgh Universty web page (second link below) says that "Edinburgh has been the capital of Scotland since 1437". I don't think that leaves room for anywhere else before, or in between.
